You know, little bird? Someday you are going to fly.
I know the ground looks so far away and your nest feels so soft and cozy but when it’s time, little bird, you’re going to fly. One day you’ll stick up your pretty little head and want to try it. You will probably stumble and slide; you might have times when you just can’t take that last step.
But you know what? Every time you’ll get a little better and a little stronger, and your Mama-bird will be there always to teach you and comfort you.
Then one day you’ll do it.
And when you do it, you’ll love it.
You’ll jump out and your wings will hold. You’ll soar away with faith under your wings. You won’t be scared at all the ground stretching out below you–it will inspire you to fly higher.
Sweet baby, I know you’re scared. You don’t know what’s coming or what you might find over that horizon. I know you feel hawks over your head and you don’t know if you can handle it. I know your heart’s beating so loudly it sounds bigger than you. But don’t worry. Don’t worry when you feel alone. Don’t worry when you think you can’t pull through. You will be taken care of.
And one day, little bird, you’re going to fly. Soar. Glide. And when you do, you will love it.
